Four office buildings along S. California Avenue have been demolished to construct 180 homes for Stanford faculty per the 2005 Mayfield Development Agreement between the City of Palo Alto and Stanford University. This website is intended to provide information about the project, construction activity, and most current construction advisories.

It is currently anticipated occupancy will begin on the six homes designated as construction phase 4 (California Avenue / Bowdoin Street at Bowdoin Place) approximately May 2018. The seventeen homes designated construction phases 5-7 (Bowdoin and Amherst Way – toward Page Mill Road area of the site) are currently tracking for occupancy over the summer of 2018. The ten homes designated construction phases 8-9 (Amherst Street toward California Ave) are currently tracking to fall 2018 occupancy with the balance of the homes (near the Oak Grove on Amherst Street) and associated open space landscape areas anticipated to complete in the spring of 2019.

Various construction activities will take place on Saturday, June 16. The construction hours will comply with the approved Saturday schedule.
The temporary fence along California Avenue between Bowdoin Street and Amherst St. has been removed. While we are happy for neighbors to see this new and exciting residential area, this is private property and NO ONE should be trespassing on the property.
